Rae's Biography

Rae Stonehouse has been a Registered Nurse for 30+ years and is currently practicing and registered in British Columbia, Canada. He has worked primarily in the field of psychiatry/mental health nursing as a staff nurse and nurse therapist. As an instructor in a private post-secondary school healthcare institution he taught healthcare related courses to students seeking jobs as unlicensed support workers and through that career adventure developed his insatiable quest for knowledge.

Rae is passionate about sharing that knowledge with friends, colleagues & clients. He has adapted and embodies a mantra popularized by the likes of Brian Tracy & Anthony Robbins, that of CANEI (Continuous and Never Ending Improvement). He has incorporated that philosophy into his every day living and is quite willing to bring others along with him personal growth journey. After a brief stint in the information management/information technology department he learned that while it can be a lot of fun working on the computer on your own time, eight hours a day, day in day out, as a job, it isn’t as much fun.

Rae has served as a worker elected representative (steward) in three unions representing nurses. As well, he has 25+ years working as an advocate in workplace occupational health & safety. He has served as the co-chair representing workers on two JOSH committees (Joint Occupational Health & Safety) and has been instrumental in improving the efficiency and functioning of those committees.

One of Rae’s passions in life is in the personal development of communication & leadership skills and sharing and mentoring others in developing their’s. He has been very active within the Toastmasters International organization and has made hundreds of presentations. While honing those skills, he recently served a term as the District Governor for District 21 Toastmasters which encompasses the entire province of British Columbia, serving as a leader for a leadership team of 90 officers and overseeing the quality of the program for some 4600 members. Rae believes in giving back to Toastmasters for the many growth opportunities that have come his way and is currently serving in multiple roles within Toastmasters in B.C.

Rae has managed to maximize his passions of developing communication & leadership skills with his love of technology. He has designed several informational websites in the past and is known to be a collector of “useful” information.

He is currently expanding into healthcare entrepreneurial opportunities, online & within the Okanagan Valley of beautiful British Columbia, Canada. As a Director of the Okanagan Valley Entrepreneur Society (OVES) he is responsible for developing entrepreneur educational & training opportunities for local entrepreneurs. He is a frequent moderator for their monthly Townhall Panel discussions and is responsible for OVES’ mentoring & coaching program and Speakers Bureau.
